Les Mellet grew up in Subiaco, the youngest of five children. He left
school at 14 and went 'Bush'.
He worked all over Australia on cattle and sheep stations and in mining
and exploration. Spent 20
years working overseas. Started writing poetry again in 1991 for the
first time since leaving school.
Loves being an Australian.
This album is very Australian and endeavours to capture the spirit of
the outback in both prose and
